OpenBionics is an open-source initiative for the development of affordable, light-weight, modular robot hands, anthropomorphic robot hands, and prosthetic devices that can be easily reproduced using off-the-shelf materials. The primary focus of the proposed design is to provide multiple low-cost and task-specific robot hands instead of ones that are expensive and complex.

The following video demonstrates the experimental validation of the anthropomorphic robot hand for robust grasping and dexterous in-hand manipualtion.

Illustration of grasping capabilities of the prosthetic hand.

Robot hands are presented in the following video.
